New team of Interact Club of Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, Chandigarh was installed on 8th October, 2009.

The word �teacher� sends a wave of ecstasy, the moment one thinks about it. That was exactly the feeling the teaching faculty got when the students of Guru Nanak Public School expressed their gratitude by putting up a colourful programme .





SCHOOL RULES:

 

No student will be permitted to leave the school premises once he/she is present except under very exceptional circumstances, like sudden accident, death or illness etc.

Student are expected to show due courtesy towards their superiors, fellow-students, and administrative
staff at all times, like greeting them properly, standing aside to let them pass

Students should refrain from shouting, calling out to each other loudly, use of abusive language, running in the
corridors. They should use the word ‘Thank You’ and ‘Sorry’ more often. Being a co-educational institution, the boys should have a decent attitude towards the girls.
Students should also greet the visitors to school and extend any help required by them
Assembly:
No absenteeism except under pressing circumstances will be allowed
Uniform:
The uniform must be worn properly by the students throughout the time they are at school. Students not in uniform will be sent home
Classes:
It is absolutely obligatory for the students to attend all the classesStudents absent from the school without leave will be fined Rs. 25/- per day.
Students will sit in their own classes during the free periods. They must also sit in an erect posture in their seats.
Students are expected to bring their prescribed books to the school
Students must maintain proper discipline during the games period and during recess
Accidents must be reported to the teacher in charge or to the Prefects on duty
Breakage or damage to school property, when noticed, must be reported to the appropriate authority. Intentional breakage will be duly fined.
Canteen
Students are forbidden to enter the canteen. They should observe proper decorum outside the canteen and make their purchase
Students are also forbidden to go the canteen at any time other than the recess.
Students will not behave aggressively with the canteen contractor or any of his employees
Students will not litter the area around the canteen or the grounds
Library:
Strict silence is to be maintained in the library
Books borrowed from the library should be taken proper care of andreturned in time.
Students will be responsible for the loss of or of any damage to any library book which he/she borrows.
Miscellaneous:
The following things are strictly forbidden: Tobacco, alcohol,firearms, drugs, music equipments, expensive pieces of jewellery & mobile phones.
Lending and borrowing of any kind amongst the students is strictly forbidden.
NO student should call on any member of Teaching Staff,Administrative Staff or any member of the Governing Council.
The Prefects and the House Captains will be responsible for the maintenance of the school discipline to a large extent under the guidance of the teachers.
Students are not to come to school on scooters, mopeds, motorbikes etc.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Guardians of students who are foreign nationals whether Day Scholars of Boarders will get their wards registered with FRO’s office under IPG, UT Chandigarh and intimate number of passport, Visa and Registration Permit (R.P.) to the school office within a week of their admission. They will also get year to year extension of residential permit of their wards as per Police Rules.
During vacation, Boarding students must be collected by their parents after recess on the last working day, preceding vacation and brought back on the morning of the opening day of school on the morning of the opening day and show the receipt to the warden/ matron so that the latter can accept the students on rejoining. Parents should make their programmes to visit school to collect/bring back wards strictly as stipulated above.
On a working day once a student joins his/her class he/she will not be permitted to leave school before close of the school except in cases of a very emergent nature. Parents should come personally to take their wards with prior permission of the Principal/Registrar. When parents are aware or have planned to take their wards to hospital/family function etc., the students should not be sent. This will avoid rush of visitors to the school.
Name of students remaining absent for more than six consecutive days without any information/permission will be liable to be struck off the school rolls.
Once the name of a student has been struck off the school rolls under any category. Re-admission will be sought after payment of Rs. 250/- and thereafter the student will be allowed to rejoin the classes.
