Appointments held Served as Professor and Head of Department, Pediatrics and later as Director, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh from which post he retired in 1995 on superannuation. Fellowships Awarded 1 Awarded the Heinz-Nuffield Fellowship of the British Pediatrics Association, 1968. 2. Awarded a WHO Fellowship for study of Pediatric Education and Health Planning in USA , 1975 3. Awarded Senior Commonwealth Fellowship of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, U.K. 1987 4. Awarded several orations and awards by Indian Academy of Pediatrics and State Chapters of the Academy. Honours and Distinctions conferred by professional organizations. First Indian to be honoured with Fellowship of Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health London.
